Villa by the Sea is a spectacular, sophisticated property. Like many well established Scottish location spots, this property mixes historic details and impressive grandeur of the past with classic charms of the present. It’s one of the most prestigious addresses in Broughty Ferry and is right by the shore of the River Tay with incredible views over the water.
This immaculate 4 bedroom villa has everything you need for a luxurious and homely stay – from a roll top bath for decadent bubble baths to its delightful outdoor seating areas for epic views across the Tay. It’s perfect for enjoying some fine Scottish hospitality before perhaps heading out to sample the charming local scene. We can help organise personal chefs, drivers or taxi runs - whatever you're looking to organise we're right on hand to assist in making this happen!
From the moment you enter the grand hallway with its beautiful chandelier and classic black and white chequered floor, you know you’re somewhere very special. Sink into the sumptuous sofas in the stylish lounge with its gorgeous window seats and period fireplace. Adjourn to the beautiful bar area (yes please!) where guests can enjoy their complimentary bottle of fizz. Then head through for a delicious dinner in the fabulously fashionable dining room with a large table seating 8. A modern fully equipped kitchen and WC complete the downstairs floor plan.
Head upstairs, noticing the intricate ironwork of the balustrades, and you’ll find 4 spacious bedrooms ranging from a super king to a king-size and 2 doubles. All are immaculately furnished rooms with modern takes on period details such as designer wallpaper and retro furniture. The bathroom features a luxurious roll tap bath for blissful bathing plus a modern walk-in shower.
Outside there’s plenty to impress too with pretty, enclosed gardens both front and rear. The rear garden is a sheltered area perfect for peaceful chilling on the sun loungers, or quiet reading. The front garden has a fabulous view over the water and a variety of outdoor furniture. Imagine sitting in the 2 Adirondack-style wooden armchairs watching the boats sail by in the morning or there’s a modern lounge set with cushions for when there’s a group of you having a sunny al fresco brunch!

As famously quoted by Voltaire, “We look to Scotland for all our ideas of civilisation.” We may be biased… but for serene landscapes of rolling hills, famous distilleries, medieval castles, breathtaking glens and exquisite tastings from local produce, choose Scotland, and specifically Douglas Terrace, Broughty Ferry as the ultimate base to experience this ideal civilisation. The best of all worlds.
